Adam has over three decades of professional experience in financial services covering Corporate Finance, Consumer Banking, Institutional Banking Treasury, Commercial/SME Banking, and Human Capital Management. He has served on the board of several Financial Institutions, including First City Monument Bank Limited, where he retired as the Managing Director in 2021, Nigeria Interbank Settlement System (NIBSS) as non-Executive Director, and Chairman of Arab Gambia Islamic Bank. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University in 1988 with a specialization in Finance. He is a Fellow of The Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), a Fellow of The Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria (FICA), and an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB), in recognition of his contribution to the banking industry in the multi-sector areas of consumer lending, digital transformation, public sector banking, leadership mentorship, payments, collections and settlement services. Adam has attended several executive management and leadership courses at leading institutions, which include Harvard Business School and INSEAD. Over his three decades in the financial services sector, Adam has supervised and participated in several revenue enhancement initiatives and projects at national and sub-national levels and in the private sector, all of which have contributed to sustainable growth in the country. He firmly believes in the National Financial Inclusion Strategy and strongly advocates using technology to drive transformation and innovation. He also has interests in the Manufacturing, Agriculture, Marine Services, and Financial Technology (FINTECH) sectors, where he continues to use his wealth of experience and leadership acumen to create employment opportunities to grow the economy. He is a member of the Bridge Club, a not-for-profit organization comprised of accomplished professionals from the public and private sectors who are collectively committed to promoting economic growth and development in the country. He also participates in youth empowerment, mentoring, and leadership grooming. Adam is happily married with children, widely traveled, loves fishing, and farming, and engages in volunteer work during his spare time.
